Slightly disappointing

Cnytr draws attention to the welcome return of the Latin Lover, which alas reveals that Benedict's first speech was translated from Italian into Latin by Reginald Foster. Oh well.

Fr Foster proclaims that, if it were read out clearly, 'a dog could understand it.' I reckon by his standards I have an amoeba's cognitive ability on the Latin front. Sigh.
